Sires of Distinction
Reg #: 6K111SPK3
Officially named Sunboy 111 - was a Money Maker son that I had the honor of picking out of a group of yearling bucks at Frank and Mary Dyson's Sunset Place Kikos in July 1997. This was my first Kiko buck and one of my best, however, he was used almost exclusively as a commercial buck, covering Spanish and Boer-cross does. At that time I was producing only meat goats and had not yet entered the purebred Kiko business. None of his direct descendants remain on Egypt Creek Ranch. However, in 1999, I had purchased his flushmate sister, Sunkist 113, who was the mother of CCR Anastasia, ECR Gloria, ECR Black Gold and ECR Samurai Jack. So in a way, King Tut's genetics still run through much of our herd.

Sire: BETULA HILL MONEYMAKER

CCR Xcelerator is a Money Maker son that I bought in 1999 from Caston Creek Ranch at the same time I purchased Sunkist 113, her daughter CCR Anastasia, and CCR Sara 812 (a Generator daughter). Xcelerator has sired some of the meatiest and fastest growing Kikos we have ever produced. In the early days of the Kiko industry, there was no distinction between purebreds and 100 percent New Zealands. They were all the same to most of us early breeders. So we just bred best to best, which resulted in Xcelerator (97%) being bred to all of our 100% does at some time. The best crossing was Xcelerator over Anastasia. This mating produced ECR Ivanhoe, the high-selling purebred buck at the 2007 ECR production sale and ECR Sinbad, the high-selling purebred buck in the 2008 sale. An Xcelerator X Anastasia grandson was the No. 1 gaining buck at the 2009 Maryland buck test. An Xcelerator son was the top-gaining Kiko at the 2004 Langston buck test and another son won the 2007 Oklahoma buck forage test.

Sire: GOATEX GOLDMINE
Dam: BETULA HILL BRIMSTONE
AAS Goldmine II had as much impact on the ECR herd as any buck we have owned. He is the sire of such well-known Egypt Creek goats as ECR Gloria, ECR Black Gold, ECR M2 and ECR M4. Many of his grandkids can still be found on Egypt Creek Ranch. Goldmine II has been deceased for many years, but his genetics will be around for a long time to come.
Officially named Sunboy Stanton 149 - is another buck who will have a lasting impact at Egypt Creek Ranch. I first saw "Nick" at Bill & Brenda Moore's. He was the biggest Kiko buck I had ever seen. I borrowed "Nick" for two embryo flushes, crossing him with ECR Gloria and JTV Queen. These flushes produced dozens of kids who were sold around the country. Several of the best bucks and does from these matings remain at Egypt Creek Ranch.

Southwest Cisco is a product of the "survival of the fittest" management employed by Kiko exporter Graham Culliford at his Comfort, Texas, ranch in the 1990s. Cisco's sire, Terminator, was among a group of New Zealand Kikos that Culliford brought into the U.S. and turned loose on West Texas brush, where Cisco was born in 1997. I purchased him from Bill Moore in 2001 and crossed him with nearly every doe I had. He produced dozens of kids, including ECR Rusty, ECR Samurai Jack and ECR P77, his only surviving daughter that I know of.
ecr black gold
Reg #: 1P060ECR4
Sire: 6KY47AAS6 AAS GOLDMINE II
Dam: 6K113SPK3 SUNKIST 113
ECR Black Gold was a quadruplet brother of ECR Gloria. His mixture of Goldmine on top and Moneymaker on the bottom gave him winning attributes from both sides of the family. He is probably the deepest bodied buck we ever raised. Some of our best does are from Black Gold crossed with P77 (our Southwest Cisco daughter) - giving them a mixture of Goldmine, Money Maker and Terminator.

Sire: SOUTHWEST CISCO 7P 148SLR5
Dam: JTV NINA 8K004JTV6
ECR Rusty is a son of Southwest Cisco and JTV Nina, a daughter of Klondike. Rusty, now retired, was our most parasite tolerant buck and rarely needed a hoof-trimming. He sired the high-selling doe at the 2007 ECR Production Sale and the high-selling buck at the 2008 ECR Production Sale. He is the sire of the 10th place finisher in the 2007 Oklahoma Forage-Based Buck test. A Rusty daughter was the dam of the 2nd-place finisher in the Western Maryland buck forage test in 2008.
SKY SPORTS KAT
Reg #: 04P408SKY5
Sire: 7K489SWL7 SOUTHWEST SPORTSMAN
Dam: 9K174TLR5 TASMAN TEMPTRESS
SKY Sports Kat is probably the meatiest Kiko buck we have ever used. We borrowed him from Bill & Brenda Moore for our flush in 2007 when they owned him and crossed him with three of our Goldmine II daughters. All I can say is I wish we had kept more of those offspring!
